Beginner 20 Week Program
For runners who currently run 15 to 25 miles per week and expect to run the marathon in about 4 hours for men, or 4:20 for women. You should have at least one year of running experience.

Intermediate 20 Week Program
For runners who currently run 25 to 50 miles per week and expect to run the marathon in under 3:30 for men, or 3:50 for women.

Advanced 20 Week Program
For runners who currently run 40 to 60 miles per week and expect to run the marathon in under 3:00 for men, or 3:20 for women.

This training plan is designed for the runner who wants to run and complete their first half marathon race. You should be able to complete a 2-mile run before starting this running plan. The training plan will consist of run/walk workouts, easy run workouts, gentle interval speed sessions and long runs up to 11 miles.

This training plan is designed for the runner looking to maintain their health and speed. The training plan will consist of easy run workouts, speed sessions (1/4 mile-1 mile repeats), tempo runs (sustained hard efforts), and long run workouts. Max weekly mileage will be 47 miles.

This plan is for the runner looking to set a personal best in the half marathon and looking to place high in their respected age category. The training plan will consist of easy run workouts, speed sessions (1/4 mile--2-mile repeats), tempo runs (sustained hard efforts), and long run workouts. Max weekly mileage will be 70.5 miles.

To start the beginner program, an athlete should have run in a couple of 5K or 10K races within the past year and have the goal of running a first half-marathon or marathon.

To start this program, the athlete should have been running four to five times per week, averaging 30-45 miles per week, and running 5-7 races per year at distances between 5K and the half-marathon. The runner is looking to successfully navigate the course and possibly run a marathon personal best, or a best time.

The advanced program is designed for the runner who competes regularly in races of 10K or longer and wants to run a ersonal best time for the marathon or be competitive in his or her age group. The athlete should be capable of running 50-60 miles per week.

This training plan is designed for the runner/walker who wants to break into a running stride and complete their first 10k race. The training plan will consist of run/walk workouts, easy run workouts, gentle interval speed sessions of 1/4 mile to 1/2 miles and long runs up to 6 miles.

This training plan is designed for the runner looking to maintain their health and speed. The training plan will consist of easy run workouts, speed sessions (1/4 mile-1 mile repeats), tempo runs (sustained hard efforts of 4-5 miles), and long run workouts. Max weekly mileage will be 44 miles.

This plan is for the runner looking to set a personal best in the 10k and looking to place high in their respected age category. The training plan will consist of easy run workouts, speed sessions (1/4 mile-1 mile repeats), tempo runs (sustained hard efforts of 4-6 miles), and long runs at a easy to moderate steady pace. Maximum weekly mileage will be 66.5 miles.

This training plan is designed for the walker/jogger who wants to break into a running stride and run/complete their first 5k race. The plan has a maximum weekly volume of 8 running miles with the longest run being 3 miles before the race. It is highly recommended that you are able to run 1 full mile in under 13 minutes before starting this training plan.

This training plan is designed for the runner looking to maintain their health and speed. The training plan will consist of easy run workouts, speed sessions (1/4 mile-1 mile repeats), tempo runs (sustained hard efforts), and long run workouts. Max weekly mileage will be 32 miles.

This plan is for the runner looking to set a personal best in the 5k and looking to place high in their respected age category. The training plan will consist of easy run workouts, speed sessions (1/4 mile-1 mile repeats), tempo runs (sustained hard efforts), hill sprints, and long run workouts. Max weekly mileage will be 55 miles.
